This piece was originally sketched out about 4 years ago from a reference photo taken of myself. It sat as a digital draft until I rediscovered it and realized it aligned with how I have been feeling recently. My relationship with art ebbs and flows and is constantly changing. Lately I’ve been feeling both overexposed and laid bare, simultaneously grateful and so aware it is a gift to do what I do. Hence the title of the painting being gift.
